Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the PLOT Budget marketing website at plotbudget.com ("Marketing Site") and the PLOT Budget application at app.plotbudget.com ("App"), together the "Service". By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PLOT Budget is a household budgeting application developed and operated by Allotment Technology Ltd. The Marketing Site provides information about the product. The App provides the budgeting functionality, including account creation, budget management, and household sharing.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. Account and Use

When you create an account in the App, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and notify us promptly of any unauthorised access.

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or systems
• Transmit harmful code, spam, or malicious content
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Use the Service for any purpose other than personal household budgeting

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, content, and software, is owned by Allotment Technology Ltd (or its licensors). You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

6. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

PLOT is a budgeting planning tool. It does not provide financial, investment, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Allotment Technology Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice. You may close your account and delete your data at any time from within the App.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email or via the App. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Pay-What-You-Like Subscriptions

12.1 Contribution Amount

PLOT Premium uses a pay-what-you-like model. You may choose any monthly contribution between £0 and £10. The amount is selected by you at checkout.

12.2 Changing Your Contribution

You can change your contribution amount or cancel anytime via the subscription portal.

12.3 Billing & Payments

Billing is monthly on the date you subscribe. Payments are processed by Polar (polar.sh) as our Merchant of Record. You will receive receipts by email from Polar. PLOT does not store payment card data.

12.4 Cancellation

You may cancel at any time. Premium features remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which your access will be limited. No refunds for partial months.

12.5 Legacy Fixed Pricing

Users on legacy fixed-price plans (£4.99/month or £49.99/year) before PWYL was introduced retain their pricing unless they choose to switch to PWYL by canceling and resubscribing.
